What forms of payment do you accept?
Payments for Consular services can be made using the following methods:
- Debit/Credit
- Apple pay
- Money order or bank drafts.
Money orders/bank drafts should be made payable to ‘Consulate General of Saint Lucia’ and your name should be written at the bottom, on the line labeled ‘Re’.
Are cash payments accepted?
No. Cash payments are not accepted.

What are your operating hours?
We are open Mondays – Fridays, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Is the Consulate open on weekends?
The Consulate does not operate on weekends.

Do you accept walk-ins or do I need to make an appointment before coming in?
Walk-ins are welcomed for some services, during our Consular Service hours; however, applicants are encouraged to make appointments for some Consular services, to avoid long wait-times or delays in services, due to packed schedules or prior appointments of Consular Officers.

What are the different types of passport applications, their costs and processing times?
There are three (3) types of ePassport applications:
- Regular ePassport Processing (passport is expired or will be expiring within 6 months)

I need help with completing my ePassport application form; is there someone at the Consulate who can assist?
If you require assistance with completing your application, please call our office, at Tel: ; one of our officers will be more than happy to assist you.
Can I submit my ePassport application online?
No. Although the ePassport application form can be filled out online, the completed forms must be printed and submitted to our office, in person or via the mail, along with the required supporting documentation.
Can I submit photocopies of my supporting documents, along with my ePassport application?
No. All required documents submitted along with your ePassport application, must be in their original forms.
Can I have someone in Saint Lucia submit my ePassport application to Immigration Saint Lucia, on my behalf?
Yes. Persons in Nigeria may choose to process their Passports privately (allow someone in Saint Lucia to submit their ePassport application to Immigration Saint Lucia, on their behalf).
Please note the following:
- Once processed, the passport and documents will not be given to anyone in Saint Lucia, on behalf of the applicant and it will not be sent directly to the applicant in Canada; Immigration Saint Lucia will send the new passport and documents to the applicant, through the Consulate.
- It is the applicant’s responsibility to inform Immigration Saint Lucia to forward their passport and documents to the Consulate, once it has been processed.
- Applicants will be contacted and informed, when the new passport and documents are received by the Consulate and will be required to pay a passport courier fee of $30.00 CAD, at the time of collection.
- Applicants, who do not wish to collect their passport and documents in person, must submit a self-addressed Canada Post Xpresspost Prepaid Envelope, to our office, so that their passport and documents can be mailed to them.
Can I use my Permanent Resident (P.R.) card to travel to Saint Lucia, if my passport is expired?
Your valid Saint Lucian passport is required for travel to Saint Lucia.
If your Saint Lucian passport is expired, you can either:
- Appy to have your Saint Lucian passport renewed or
- Apply for an Emergency Travel Document
If you wish to apply for an Emergency Travel Document, please note the following:
- The Emergency Travel Document must be surrendered to Immigration, on arrival in Saint Lucia.
- You cannot leave Saint Lucia or travel back to Canada, on an Emergency Travel Document.
- You must renew your Saint Lucian passport, while in Saint Lucia, if you are planning on leaving Saint Lucia/returning to Canada.
- Please ensure that you have or meet the necessary immigration requirements for re-entry into Canada, before making any travel arrangements.

Passport Photos and Recommender
How many photos do I need to renew my passport?
Passport applicants must submit two (2) identical passport-sized photos, along with their passport applications. Please note the following:
- Photos must be recent (less than three (3) months old)
- Photos must be 2” length/height x 1 ½” width/(50mm x 40mm)
- Photos must bear the name of the business where they were taken, as well as the date taken
- Your Recommender (Doctor, Lawyer, Minister of Religion or Justice of the Peace) must sign the back of at least one of the photos.

Who can sign the back of my passport photo(s)?
Only the following persons can sign the back of your passport photo(s), as your Recommender:
- Doctor
- Lawyer
- Minister of Religion
- Just of the Peace
Please note: The person (Recommender) who signs the back of your passport photo(s), must also sign Section 7 of your passport application form.
My Recommender does not know me personally or knows me for less than two (2) years; can he/she still sign my passport photo(s)?
Yes! The person who serves as your Recommender (Doctor, Lawyer, Minister of Religion, or Justice of the Peace) does not need to know you personally.
Your Recommender must sign the back of at least one of your photos: “I certify that this is a true likeness of “Your Name”, followed by his/her signature and the photos must bear the name of the business where they were taken, as well as the date they were taken.

Can anyone other than a Doctor, Lawyer, Minister of Religion, or a Justice of the Peace, sign my passport photo(s) and Section 7 of my application form?
No. Your passport photo(s) and Section 7 of the passport application form, must be completed and signed, by one of the following:
- Doctor

- Minister of Religion
- Justice of the Peace

“…certify that the applicant has been known personally to me for ………0 (appeared in person)……… years, and that…”
My Recommender does not have an official business stamp/seal; can he/she still sign the passport application form on my behalf?
No. The person who serves as your Recommender (Doctor, Lawyer, Minster of Religion or Justice of the Peace), must complete and sign Section 7, and must affix his/her stamp/seal in that section, of the passport application form.
I am unable to find someone to sign as my Recommender; is there anyone at the Consulate who can sign on my behalf?
Section 7 of the application form must be completed by one of the following:
- Doctor
- Lawyer
- Minister of Religion
- Justice of the Peace
Please note: the person, who serves as your Recommender, does not need to know you personally.
If your Recommender does not know you personally or knows you for less than 2 years, he/she should indicate the length of time that they have known you for, followed by “(appeared in person)”

Applicant has a blue machine-readable passport that is expired or will be expiring in less than six (6) months.Regular Processing:

- Applicant’s passport is lost, damaged or stolen or
- Applicant is renewing a passport that is not expired and has an expiry date that is more than six (6) months away. (e.g., your valid passport will be expiring on November 01st, 2021 but you applied to have it renewed on January 01st, 2021.)
Cost: $210.00 CAD (Application fee: $150.00 plus a 2-way courier fee: $60.00)

Can I renew/replace my valid passport, which has an expiry date that is more than six (6) months away, for ______ reason.
If your passport is still valid (not expired) and has an expiry date that is more than six (6) months away, the Statement of Witness form must be completed to explain why your passport is being replaced, 6 months or more, in advance of its expiry date.

I have a Birth and Baptism Certificate with my name on it; can I use it to renew my passport?
Your original Saint Lucian Birth Certificate, which states “Births in the District of” at the top, is the only document accepted as proof of your Saint Lucian identification when applying for your Saint Lucian passport.
“The Baptism and Birth” document, is no longer accepted and cannot be used along with or in place of your original birth certificate.
Can I have someone in Saint Lucia submit my passport application to Immigration Saint Lucia, on my behalf?
Yes. Persons in Canada may choose to process their passports privately (allow someone in Saint Lucia to submit their passport application to Immigration Saint Lucia, on their behalf).

Statement of Witness Form
What is the Statement of Witness form?
The Statement of Witness form is a form that must be completed and submitted along with the passport application form, to explain how an applicant’s Saint Lucian passport was lost, stolen, or damaged/destroyed, or why his/her valid passport is being renewed six months or more, in advance of its expiry date.
When must the Statement of Witness form be completed?
The Statement of Witness form must accompany the Saint Lucia passport application form, if any of the following applies:
- Your Saint Lucian passport is lost, stolen, or damaged/destroyed: the Statement of Witness form must be completed, to explain how the passport was lost, stolen, or damaged/destroyed.
- You are renewing your valid Saint Lucian passport, which has an expiry date that is more than six (6) months away: the Statement of Witness form must be completed, to explain why your passport is being replaced 6 months or more, in advance of its expiry date.
The completed form must be submitted along with the passport application and other required supporting documents.

Who can sign as my Witness, on the last page of the Statement of Witness form?
The completed Statement of Witness form must be witnessed and signed by one of the following:
- Doctor
- Lawyer
- Minister of Religion
- Justice of the Peace
Please note: Your Witness, must also affix his/her official stamp/seal, in that section of the form.
My Witness does not have an official business stamp/seal; can he/she still sign the last page of the Statement of Witness form, on my behalf?
No. The person who signs as your Witness (Doctor, Lawyer, Minster of Religion or Justice of the Peace), must complete, and sign the last page of the Statement of Witness form and must also affix his/her stamp/seal in that section of the form.
